Customer Support Opportunity – English & Japanese – Global Market Research Organisation Overview I am currently recruiting for a junior customer support and localisation specialist to join my client who are a global market research organisation. They are currently expanding and strengthening their presence in Asia, and therefore, are looking for someone to act as a bridge between Japan and Holland. This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage of their Asian expansion, helping to shape the customer experience and local presence from the ground up. The role will initially focus on Japan, with scope to expand into Korea and other markets. Role Responsibilities • Provide customer support for the Japanese market, ensuring responses within one hour during Japanese business hours. • Deliver high-quality English-language customer support until the Japanese territory expands further. • Support with translation and localisation of content for the Japanese market (website, help articles, emails, product content, etc.). • Ensure all communication is culturally appropriate and aligned with local expectations. • Monitor and escalate customer issues where needed, working closely with internal teams. • Contribute to process improvements as we establish and refine our Asian support operations. • Potentially take on additional English-language tasks and market support as new regions are launched. Essential Skills and Experience • Native or fluent Japanese language skills (written and spoken). • Strong professional/fluent English language skills (written and spoken). • Availability to work Japanese business hours • Strong cultural knowledge and understanding of Japanese customer expectations and communication styles. • Ability to work independently in a fully remote setup. • Proactive, organised, and adaptable in a fast-changing environment. Desirable Skills and Experience • Understanding of Korean language (reading and comprehension is beneficial; fluency is a plus). • Experience with localisation or translation of digital content. • Experience in customer support, client services, or a similar customer-facing role (junior level is welcome). • Familiarity with support tools (e.g., ticketing systems, CRM platforms).
